What is a leg of a bet?
A “leg” of a bet refers to a single selection within a multiple bet. For example, in an accumulator bet, which is a type of multiple bet, each individual selection is referred to as a “leg” of the bet. So if a bettor places an accumulator bet on four different matches, each match would be considered a separate “leg” of the bet.
What is an example of a leg of a bet?
Let’s say a bettor wants to place a multiple bet on the Superbowl, they might want to bet on multiple outcomes such as the winner of the game, the final score, and the most valuable player. In this example, each outcome would be considered a separate “leg” of the bet.
For example, the first leg would be the prediction of the winner of the game, the second leg would be the prediction of the final score, and the third leg would be the prediction of the most valuable player. In order for the bettor to win the bet, all the legs need to be correct, or in some cases a certain number of legs need to be correct, depending on the type of multiple bet.
In other words, the bettor is placing a bet on multiple outcomes in a single event, and each outcome is considered a separate leg of the bet.
